Hello, I’m Jenni Ventura.

I’m a musician, singer/songwriter, producer & composer.

I am currently working on my debut album as a solo artist.

I have pledged to collaborate exclusively with women and gender-expansive people in my solo work. You can follow my journey and meet my amazing collaborators here.

I also write and produce soundtracks for short films and theatre.

"Inviting you into a dreamy world

of escapism and reflection,

Jenni Ventura’s music blends electronic music production with folk, classical and dance music influence. Recorded voices and instruments weave through synthetic sound worlds, telling stories of life, love and loss."

Text: "Artist".

I trained as a percussionist at the Royal College of Music, London, before doing a Masters in Music Leadership at the Guildhall School. I spent many years performing in various contexts – a percussion duo, chamber ensembles, orchestras and brass bands.

I have always sought out the unusual in my musical career – my performing highlights include; an appearance as a stiletto-wearing terrorist band-member in Trafalgar square, complete with escape by stretch limo; interpreting people’s dreams live on stage through improvised music; performing solo marimba arrangements of Brazilian Tropicalia music in a beach-themed party in the Tate Modern. I also directed Joy to Filth Ratio - a collective which co-created dance music for live performance on orchestral instruments, performing at venues and festivals in London.

In 2018 I became a mother which redefined my identity and my life choices. I moved from a focus in musical performance, to a new direction in electronic programming and production. In 2020 I initiated a community film collaboration against the backdrop of the pandemic,   leading to my first film soundtrack. I fell in love with music production, and continued on this path, funded by Help Musicians and Arts Council England.

"Music can set us free, music can connect us across every possible difference, yet music can also exclude and harm. By fighting for a fairer world in the arts, we fight for a society where everyone is accepted, valued and heard."

I am a passionate and lifelong advocate for inclusion in the arts. Since the earliest days of my career, I have worked as a creative music facilitator, which later led to me producing and running community music programmes. I have created music with people from all walks of life, who face barriers to accessing the arts: disabled children and adults, homeless people, people with mental ill health, families in social housing and people living with dementia. I make music in libraries, hospitals, care homes, schools, community centres, festivals, and in the streets!

I provide consultancy and training in arts access and inclusion, and I am a public voice and advocate for equality in the arts.

I believe that the arts should be by everyone, for everyone, and exclude no one.

See my blog page for my provocations and musings on diversity, society, and the arts.
